About The Council’s Curator

James Duffy MD, FANPA, FAAHPM, ABMA is an integrative neuropsychiatrist and medical acupuncturist who has been a Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF, Cornell, the University of Texas, and the University of Connecticut. He is a past President of The Institute for Spirituality and Health.

He is currently a consultant integrative neuropsychiatrist at The Ayer Neuroscience Institute and the Chase Movement Disorders Center in Connecticut. Jim is board certified in Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine, Integrative medicine, and Medical Acupuncture. He has worked for many years to support the development of integrative medicine, medical ethics, palliative medicine, physician flourishing, and Eastern approaches to healing. He has published widely and received several grants, including grants from the the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and an Emily David and Joseph Kornfeld Fellowship to study the wisdom foundations of medicine.

Jim’s passion is to support the integration of wisdom and compassion in service to our innate capacity flourish.
